The Turnout

The Turnout Annual Grant Cycle Opens July 1

Each year, Galesburg Community Foundation’s Turnout Annual Grant Cycle offers a glimpse into the good work happening across our region. Grants for the Turnout come from the Community Foundation’s unrestricted Impact Fund and Field of Interest Funds, along with contributions from our generous community donors who hold Donor Advised Funds at the Community Foundation. Through the annual grant cycle, funders have the opportunity to learn directly about the needs of local organizations that are working to strengthen Knox, Warren, and Henderson Counties.

Grants are awarded in the areas of arts, culture, and community enhancement; health and human services; education and workforce development; and nonprofit capacity, sustainability, and reinvention. In past years, Turnout funding has helped Prairie Players Civic Theatre install new risers for its black box theatre, allowing them to serve a broader range of performers, renters, and audiences, while also making their space more useful and accessible. Turnout funding also supported the Caregiver Support Program through Alternatives for the Older Adult, helping provide education, counseling, and support for caregivers of older adults and adults with disabilities, as well as for older relatives raising children under the age of 18.

The Turnout is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit or public charities, schools and government agencies serving Knox, Warren, and Henderson Counties.

This year, the online application opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 1, and closes at 4 pm on Wednesday, July 15. All organizations interested in applying must meet with DeAnne Bloomberg, Vice President of Programs, prior to submitting an application. Click here to schedule a meeting with DeAnne. Information on application requirements can be found at YourGCF.org/Turnout, which is also where the grant application will be available on July 1.
