The Turnout Awards Grants to 46 Local Nonprofits
Galesburg, IL., (September 8, 2026): 46 nonprofit organizations across Knox, Warren, and Henderson counties have been awarded grants through Galesburg Community Foundation’s 2026 Turnout Annual Grant Cycle. The grants will support projects and programs that strengthen local communities by addressing emerging needs, expanding opportunities, and building organizational capacity.
The Turnout brings together funding from Galesburg Community Foundation’s unrestricted Impact Fund, Field of Interest Funds, and the generosity of donors who recommend grants through their Donor Advised Funds held at the Community Foundation. This year, more than $565,000 was awarded to nonprofits through the annual grant cycle.
“One of the greatest strengths of The Turnout is that it reflects what our communities need most right now,” said Joshua Gibb, President and CEO of Galesburg Community Foundation. “Each proposal represents people working every day to improve the lives of others. We are grateful to the donors who trust us to help connect their generosity with meaningful opportunities that strengthen our region.”
Organizations receiving funding submitted proposals in one of four grant categories: arts, culture, and community enhancement; health and human services; education and workforce development; and nonprofit capacity, sustainability, and reinvention.
“Our nonprofits are incredibly resourceful, passionate, and committed to serving others,” said DeAnne Bloomberg, Vice President of Programs. “The Turnout helps provide the support they need to keep moving important work forward, and it’s exciting to see the ideas they’ll bring to life.”
